Programmes under Bihar Education Project

SAMAGRA SHIKSHA - AN INTEGRATED SCHEME FOR SCHOOL EDUCATION :-
SAMAGRA SHIKSHA aims to achieve universal quality education with equity and in order to achieve them the following measures are required to take up at the district level:
  • Attainment of certain learning levels of children with special focus on hardest to reach out of school children.
  • Capacity building of teachers.
  • Appointment of additional teachers & rationalization of teachers.
  • Opening of upper primary schools in required proportion i.e. one upper primary school for every two primary schools/sections.
  • Grading of schools & teachers for intervention and bridging the gaps in quality & standard of education.
  • Intensive teachers training drive integrating all teachers education & teacher training activities geared to the actual ground situation. A time bound comprehensive strategy & plan of action for training & retraining of all teachers engaged in primary & upper primary level teaching.
  • Supervision & Monitoring of quality related interventions at the training of teachers level & class room transaction level.
  • Evaluation of learners to assess the learning outcomes.
  • The above measures may be categorized under different heads such as:-
  • Opening of new primary schools & upper primary schools.
  • Appointment of teachers to optimize teacher pupil ratio upto 1:30.
  • Needful TLM.
  • Training of teachers for their capacity building.
  • Pedagogical renewal process for strengthening of delivery system to improve classroom transaction.
  • Institutional support to teachers & school management.
  • Monitoring.
  • Evaluation of teachers.
  • Grading of schools & teachers.


  • KGBV (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya) :-
    The KGBV is to be providing free of cost hostel and educational facility for Girls in educationally backward blocks (EBBs) of the district . All 20 blocks of Nalanda running KGBV.
